CSP were awarded the project to provide dark fibre connectivity between two strategic campus buildings at the University of Liverpool, a Russell Group Member University, in the North West of England.

We provided a high speed fibre optic connection to the clients IC2 Building which supports a number of research groups who have now been relocated to the new laboratories. The provisioning of the network from CSP formed part of a £600m investment program carried out by the University.

Our aim was to deploy infrastructure for our client which would provide an on-going legacy due to its ability to accommodate high data volumes, which would provide opportunities for other services to utilise the fibre as and when, and to further extend the current campus network. In view of the timescales associated with the relocation it was essential that the connection was operational by 9th July 2012, to ensure there was no disruption to the research groups. Once again, CSP achieved its delivery challenge.
